W A Hare & Son, a local family building and joinery manufacturing company based at Kelfield between Selby and York have won the Best New Home Award by the LABC for the North and East Yorkshire Region and will be automatically entered into the regional final.
The award was won for a striking New Modern House sympathetically linked to two traditional converted barns designed architect Ric Blenkharn, York. The work was supervised by site agent Chris Holmes.
We will soon have to extend out trophy cabinet, with our senior site agent Malcolm Hoe winning the NHBC Pride in the Job Award earlier this year as well as a shield award for the best site manager for a housing project in Cliffe near Selby.
The Federation of Master Builders have entered us into the National Final to be held in London in September having won the Yorkshire and Trent Regional Awards earlier in the year for a Kitchen Project in Heslington.
“With the icing on the cake winning the Best New Home Award by the LABC, it is good to have recognition for our team of craftsmen” says MD Nick Hare.
We are proud to announce that Malcolm Hoe received the coveted NHBC Pride in the Job Award for the North East Area presented to him at the Leeds Academy on Friday 28th of September by the Regional Director.
Not only did he win the Pride in the Job Award given to only 3% of the Regional Site Agents but then he went on further to be chosen for the Elite Award the Seal of Excellence for his attention to detail, leadership and quality of his site workmanship for a bespoke house built in the Cliffe area near Selby. This award is only given to 12 people from each of the 10 regional areas. This is out of a total of 16,000 eligible entries.
Malcolm has worked for W. A. Hare, Kelfield for the last 34 years and is not a stranger to award winning. He also has won the Master Builder of the Year Award with the Federation of Master Builders for an extension he built in Askham Bryan near York.
Congratulations to Malcolm and all his team involved on the project.
